The Three Presidencies Launch National Initiative for Comprehensive Dialogue Among Political Forces

The three presidencies in Iraq launched today, Friday, a comprehensive national initiative for an expanded national dialogue that includes all political forces and parliamentary blocs, aimed at addressing accumulated crises. A joint statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic, the Council of Ministers, and the Council of Representatives said that the initiative aims to overcome the state of political deadlock and create common ground for cooperation among all parties. The statement added that the dialogue will focus on essential files including economic reform, combating corruption, enhancing national security, and improving basic services. The statement called on all political blocs to actively participate in the dialogue sessions without preconditions, affirming that the doors are open to everyone. The preparatory sessions for the dialogue are scheduled to begin on May 10th next in the capital Baghdad, and will continue for two months.
