Security Authorities Clarify the Truth About the Fifth Bridge Incident in Mosul

Informed medical and security sources denied circulating reports about a young man committing suicide from the top of the Fifth Bridge in the city of Mosul, confirming that the incident was accidental.

An official source explained that the incident occurred as a result of a vehicle speeding and colliding with a young man while he was trying to cross the bridge, leading to him falling from the top of the bridge and dying instantly. The source confirmed that the driver of the vehicle turned himself in to the security authorities immediately after the incident.

The source pointed out that the victim's body was transferred to the forensic medicine department, and his identity was recognized and handed over to his relatives. He added that the competent authorities have taken all necessary legal measures against the driver in accordance with the applicable laws, stressing the need for accuracy in reporting news and relying on official sources.
