Designated Committee Initiates Procedures to Hand Over "Saraya Al-Salam" Duties to the Iraqi Armed Forces
The committee appointed by the leader of the Shiite National Current held its first official meeting to initiate the procedures for the military disengagement of "Saraya Al-Salam" from the movement. The meeting, which included relevant leaders and advisors, reviewed the executive steps to implement the decision in preparation for the full handover of duties and responsibilities to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi. These procedures follow a recent statement setting a strict one-week deadline to complete the transfer process, culminating in the final handover next Wednesday, coinciding with religious observances, in a move aimed at enhancing the centralization of security and military decision-making in the country.
