Spanish Prime Minister Congratulates His Iraqi Counterpart and Discusses Ways to Enhance Joint Cooperation

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received a congratulatory message from Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on the occasion of the formation of the new Iraqi government and its gaining of parliamentary confidence. In his message, Sanchez expressed his wishes for the government's success in its tasks, stressing his country's keenness to continue and develop the close bilateral relations between Madrid and Baghdad.

The Spanish Prime Minister expressed his looking forward to holding an early meeting with his Iraqi counterpart to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, pointing out the interest of Spanish companies in expanding their investments and projects in Iraq. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening strategic and commercial partnerships to serve the common interests of the two countries.

Sanchez appreciated Iraq's pivotal role in achieving security and stability in the Middle East, praising the strong security partnership between the two countries, which is evident in Spain's leadership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) mission in Iraq during the current period, aiming to support the capabilities of the Iraqi security forces.
